About JHS

Founded in 1980, the purpose of the Jennings Historical Society is to collect, preserve and maintain the history of the City of Jennings, Missouri and to educate the public regarding the same. In accordance with the by-laws, candidates and political causes are not endorsed. Funds are raised through annual dues and member activities. Donations are appreciated.

The Archives

The 8741 Jennings Station Rd. archives collection is opened by appointment. The collection holds a variety of slides, photos, videos, newspaper articles, maps, flags, as well as Fairview and Jennings High School yearbooks.

Items needed are family photos (please identify place, date, names), photos of events, businesses, parks, Fairview and Jennings schools (especially school newspapers), church histories, street name origins and written family histories.

Due to a lack of storage and display space, furniture and clothing are not accepted. Items are not accepted on loan for the collection, but you may bring items to share at a meeting.

Contact JHS Historian Linda Schmerber at 314-381-6650 to make an appointment if you wish to view or do research with the archives.
